Dolphins and Jaguars injury report for Thursday nights week 3 matchup

Big loss for Dolphins

Miami Dolphins Cornerback Byron Jones will miss a game for just the second time in his long six-year NFL career against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night.

Jones was documented as out on the Dolphins’ last injury news of the week due to a groin injury he endured early in the team’s 31-28 loss against the Buffalo Bills.

The statement was anticipated, given the essence of the injury and the timely turnaround due to the Thursday night game. Jones has only missed two events since 2015.

Who lines up next to Xavien

The big problem now will be around which player Miami  will select to have opposite of Xavien Howard.

Based on the last game, rookie first-round pick Noah Igbinoghene, in the 2020 NFL draft, had a hard time against the Bills wide receivers specially Stefon Diggs.

An additional option would be second-year player Nik Needham. Needham also had a challenging game against Buffalos receivers. He permitted six of seven completions and gave up 93 yards.

Roberts should help the rush defense

Another Player that was out last week was Linebacker Elandon Roberts, who will return after missing the Week 2 game against Buffalo.

Jacksonville injury report

Jacksonville also has several players on its final injury announcement, all of which have been substantial in their recent success.

Kicker Josh Lambo and center Brandon Linder were ruled out, while third-year number one wide receiver DJ Chark has been ruled out.

Lambo has been parked on injured reserve; the Jaguars moved up Brandon Wright from the practice squad to oversee the kicking game.
