New York Jets sign former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco

New York Jets sign former Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco to a one-year contract, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

He will add significant depth behind Sam Darnold and overall for the Jets organization after the team struggled with quarterback depth after Darnold unexpectedly went out with mono last season.

Flacco’s 2-6 record in eight starts is not indicative of his stats from last season with the Denver Broncos. During his stint he set a personal record for highest completion percentage with 65.7%. Aside from the value of added depth, Flacco brings leadership and can prove to be good mentor to Darnold. In the event that Darnold goes down with an injury, the Jets now have one of the best back ups in the NFL.
