Miami Dolphins off-season QB situation

As reported this week it seems Tua Tagovailoa will commence his rookie season on the bench. Along with Josh Rosen.

Mike Garafolo From the NFL Network documented, the Miami Dolphins are anticipated to grant Ryan Fitzpatrick as their Week 1 quarterback starter.

Coach Brian Flores comes from the old school Patriots mindset being under Coach Bill Belichick. The patriots believe in competition. Garafolo announced. “He wouldn’t declare a starting quarterback in this competition this early. But the expectation is you’re looking at the starter in Ryan Fitzpatrick.”

The verdict is not being based on a desire to protect the young Tagovailoa’s and his health. The Alabama Crimson Tide star quarterback is coming back from a dislocated and fractured hip that prematurely terminated his collegiate career. Flores has been giving various reviews, but none that stand out thus far.

Flores declared, per Safid Dean from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “Some good throws and good decisions, some throws that aren’t so good and some decisions that weren’t so good.”

Fitzpatrick played 13 games for Miami  last season, throwing for 3.529 yards. In addition woke up first-round pick DeVante Parker.

Pro Football Focus gave Fitzpatrick a comprehensive rating of 76.5, and the journeyman QB want an instrumental leader for the Dolphins and ushered the team to five wins. For now Miami has the 37-year-old as the starter because, he’s a qualified and proven to lead the team. However, the franchise will soon be lead by Tagovailia.

Fitzpatrick moreover has some familiarity with offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. The couple were once together during the voyages with both the Jets and Bills.
