Jerry Jones continues to show he will pay everyone but Dak Prescott, as Andy Dalton signs a one-year $7 million contract with $3 million in guaranteed money per Adam Schefter.
After making Ezekiel Elliot the highest-paid RB in the league back in September and gifting Amari Cooper a 5-year $100 million contract in May- you would think the next move on the board would be to sign your “franchise” quarterback, but maybe Jones doesn’t agree and felt the need to go in a different direction.
Dalton will be entering his 10th season, but not as a starter. The veteran attended 4 years at Texas Christian University, so his familiarity with the state likely played a role in the signing.
Does this spell the end of Prescott? Most likely not, this will serve as a safety blanket for him while he plays for the extension that he deserves, barring an injury, Prescott will be the man in Dallas for the foreseeable future.
